Incubation Workshop

TECH Fort Worth’s Incubation Workshop is an intensive, hands-on workshop series designed to create feasible business plans around unique and/or proprietary technologies which have a high potential for success in the market place. The program is designed to serve very early stage startups.

TECH Fort Worth staff and mentors work directly with the entrepreneurs on their business plans. No more than 6 entrepreneurs are enrolled at a time. This allows the program coaches to have a hands-on approach to business planning. From time-to-time experienced, professional service providers are brought in to provide expert advice on specific topics relevant to technology-based businesses. During the workshop sessions there are no lectures. TECH Fort Worth uses tools developed by to challenge the clients and provoke new ways of thinking in the workshops.

A shared space to work on the business plan, the TECH Fort Worth Think Lab, is provided for the entrepreneurs in the program. The Think Lab is outfitted with white boards, training tables, wireless internet access, and a business library. It is available to participating entrepreneurs for reservations at other times outside of the workshops.

During the program TECH Fort Worth also provides assistance structuring seed money from savings, family or friends, or applying for grants from federal government or others. Enrollment in the Incubation Workshop provides the startup with three months of weekly sessions. Each workshop is three hours in length.

The end result of the program is to provide the start-up with assistance in developing a detailed business model and accurately assess the feasibility of the endeavor. The cost of enrollment is $1,000 for the three month period and includes a copy of So What? Who Cares? Why You? by Wendy Kennedy.
